FCC Considering Adoption of Items Affecting Utilities at September 30 Open Meeting

The FCC will consider several items of interest to utilities at its next Open Commission Meeting on September 30.

In the 6 GHz proceeding, the FCC will consider a Public Notice providing the process for FCC authorization of Automated Frequency Coordination systems to control unlicensed standard power access devices in the 5.925-6.425 GHz and 6.525-6.875 GHz portions of the 6 GHz band. If adopted, initial AFC proposals will be due by November 30, 2021 and Comments on these proposals will be due by December 21, 2021. All proposals submitted by the initial filing deadline will be reviewed concurrently. Any proposals submitted after the initial filing deadline will have their own proceeding and comment periods.
